 Tom is President of Thomas J. Hornung & Associates, which he founded in 1997. Before setting out on his own, Tom was  a top insurance representative for Liberty Mutual, on the Direct Writer side of the industry and with McCrea and Gallen, Insurance Brokers and Biddle & Co., Insurance Brokers on the Independent Agency side of the business.

He has extensive experience in both the Personal and Commercial insurance arena in a career that began in 1975. Because of his experience and understanding of the insurance industry, Tom has been asked to serve the advisory councils for a number of insurance carriers over the years.”

Tom is involved in a number of professional and charitable organizations. He is proud to serve as President for the Compassionate Care Hospice Foundation, as President Elect for his Wilmington West Rotary Club, as committee member on the Delaware State Chamber of Commerce’s Benefits Committee, as the Independent Agent’s representative committee member for the Automobile Insurance Plan’s Governing Committee. He is a long time supporter of the Amistad Bolivian Children’s Village.“ He has served on the advisory councils of a number of insurance carriers over the years.

Tom is a long time resident of Arden, Delaware with his wife of 35 years, Sue. He has 3 daughters, 2 grandchildren. Tom enjoys gardening, travel, theatre and following Philly Sports teams especially the Phillies and the Eagles. He has a very large family circle and is always happy when the clans gather.

Tom’s primary responsibility it to design coverage plans for his business clients and then to serve those clients with knowledge and enthusiasm. He is also the administrative head of the agency and is involved in all aspects of the operations. He credits his amazing staff for making the operations run smoothly so the agency management piece is not too time consuming or difficult.
