Don Drake

Don began his insurance career in 1980 as a Commercial Producer for J.A. Montgomery Inc. in Wilmington, Delaware. In 1986, he became a partner in the Twardus-Drake Insurance Agency, Inc. which was later sold, in 1998, to Commerce Insurance Services; the company who had also purchased J. A Montgomery a few years earlier. Don stayed on with Commerce as head of their Personal Insurance Division until 2001 when he joined Thomas J. Hornung & Associates, Inc. as a Commercial Lines Producer.

Don is a graduate of the University of Delaware and has continued his insurance education through participation in a number of industry course offerings to better serve his customers.

He has served on the insurance carrier advisory councils for Harleysville Insurance Company, Donegal Mutual Insurance Company and Travelers Insurance Company. He is a past member of The Delaware Home Builders Association, Delaware Contractors Association and Associated Builders and Contractors.

Don’s agency responsibilities include bringing new commercial risks to the agency and providing service to his existing customer base.

In his free time, Don enjoys playing golf, collecting vinyl albums and classic cars. He is also an avid fan (and authority) of Delaware High School Sports, University of Delaware Football and the Philadelphia Phillies.
